Abstract
Encrypting medical images is essential for
protecting sensitive medical data's integrity and confidentiality,
making sure that only authorized users may access it. Magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT) scans,
and X-rays are examples of medical images which include
extremely private information that could be exploited if viewed
by unauthorized individuals. Patient data privacy can be
efficiently protected using chaos-based encryption techniques,
which are distinguished by their strong resistance to attacks and
speed of encryption. Based on Digital Cosine Chaotic Maps, this
study helps create an unbreakable S-Box. It also examines and
evaluates the suggested S-Box's strength in relation to important
standard criteria and benchmarks, including nonlinearity and
strict avalanche. The tests' results demonstrate the suggested Sbox's strong security. NL = 106, BIC = 94.6562, and SAC =
0.5039 are the average findings obtained after the tests were
applied with a maximum value of 256 of the iterative periods. A
possible image-enciphering technique is suggested relying on the
proposed S-Box to demonstrate the S-Box's robustness.
Histogram analysis, Information entropy, number of pixels
change rate, unified average change intensity, and numerous
other standard criteria are used. The resilience of the method
against different differential and statical attacks is supported by
the analysis of the trials that used gray images. This guarantees
its use in contemporary cryptosystems used for the exchange of
medical data.
