Abstract
A high-voltage reactor producing ozone for sterilization. The reason for this lies in the ozone gas concentration at which the ozone reactor operates. Therefore, this paper developed a homemade dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) reactor capable of producing a dose of 265 g of ozone every hour. This DBD reactor is powered by a neon power supply with an output of 10 kV, 30 mA, and 20 kHz. The waveforms of discharge current and voltage have been measured. Additionally, the ozone produced by the DBD reactor has been evaluated using iodometric titration methodology. The factors that contribute to ozone gas formation, such as electrode lengths, oxygen flow rate, and gas moisture were investigated. Further, the electrical characteristics of the DBD reactor under consideration were analyzed. It was also found that ozone gas output dropped off significantly as reactor length increased. Ozone gas generation increases as humidity rises. Moreover, the formation of ozone gas drops off as the oxygen flow rises was discovered. Finally, this article looked into several oxygen fluxes to find the optimal one and constructed this research around it.
