Abstract
This research investigates the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in urban design, addressing a critical gap in evaluating the cultural responsiveness of AI-generated visual identities compared to human-led standards. The study tests the hypothesis that AI can generate stylistically coherent urban interventions when guided by specific architectural prompting. Using a comparative qualitative framework, the research evaluates the "2024 Visual Identity Guidelines for Qaliobia " (developed by Benha University) against outputs from Google Gemini (Nano). Analysis centers on criteria including form, materiality, and cultural symbolism. Findings indicate that while AI significantly enhances efficiency and produces high-quality visualizations, it tends toward generic aesthetics and lacks the material practicality inherent in human designs. The study concludes that AI serves as a powerful supportive tool for rapid prototyping, yet human expertise remains essential for navigating local heritage and technical feasibility. This work provides a structured foundation for balancing AI automation with cultural preservation in urban development.
