The rapid pace of technological advancements in both national and international markets has led to the need for faster product development. Combining design, production consideration, and maintainability is a promising method for improving product quality and reducing development time. This research aims to confirm the effectiveness of concurrent engineering and design in improving the development process, cost reductions, and final product quality, ultimately enhancing the competitiveness of metal product factories. A questionnaire was developed for a sample of Egyptian metal products factories, revealing that most (55.6%) already apply Concurrent engineering strategies in their design and production processes, contributing to production cost reduction, quality improvement, and competitiveness enhancement. However, some enterprises still require easy access to a joint design platform for maintaining and organizing design variables in a Concurrent style. The research suggests providing support for enterprises in the transformational phase, transitioning from traditional design and development processes to the Concurrent method, to efficiently perform product development activities. It is also crucial to activate sustainable communication channels between enterprise management and multi-professions workgroups, providing potential and capabilities to complete the work effectively.
