الملخص
Background: Benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) is a widespread disorder relating to the prostate associated with aging. It affects more than 100 million men worldwide, with a prevalence of approximately 50% after the age of 50 years. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) has garnered considerable interest as a regenerative curative option for prostatic problems owing to its reparative processes of proliferation-inducing agents that support reparative processes and modulate inflammation. Panax Ginseng is widely used in medicine. It is recognized for its multifaceted therapeutic benefits, exhibiting anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiproliferative effects. The present study suggests that their combined use enhances therapeutic outcomes in BPH. Materials and Methods: 63 rats were assigned to six groups in a random manner: [control, bisphenol A (BPA), PRP- treated, Ginseng- treated, PRP + Ginseng- treated, and recovery groups]. Prostate samples were gathered and handled for histopathological and immunohistochemical examinations. Results: The BPA group illustrated deformed acini, marked stratification, obliterated lumen, significant increases (P < 0.01) in fibrosis, PCNA and ER immunoreactivity. Administration of PRP or Ginseng significantly mitigated these changes, as evidenced by marked reductions in fibrosis, PCNA, and ER expression (P < 0.01) in comparison with the BPA-treated group. (BPA + PRP + Ginseng group) presented histological architecture closely mirroring that in the control group. Conclusion: PRP and Panax Ginseng combined therapy greatly enhanced the therapeutic impact on experimentally produced BPH in rats, improving histological architecture and reducing fibrosis.
