الملخص
Monitoring and evaluation of the real performance of integrated energy solutions at building and district scales is essential for demonstrating the advancement of the clean urban energy transition. Within this context, a Zero Energy Building (ZEB) was realised as a school demo site in Vienna. Its optimised annual energy performance has been systematically monitored and evaluated following a co-creation process involving key stakeholders.
An integrated monitoring and evaluation methodology was established, covering the automated energy data collection, transfer to a local platform, data cleansing, visualisation and the subsequent KPIs calculation and impact assessment. The calculated set of KPIs evaluate and asses the building’s energy performance towards ZEB, focusing on building’s energy efficiency, reliance on onsite renewable energy supply- solar thermal, photovoltaics, and geothermal heat pump- and its flexible interaction with the public electric grid and district heating network.
The impact assessment demonstrated the successful realization of the ZEB concept, achieving a self-supply ratio of 124 %, equivalent to an annual surplus renewable energy production of 56.6 MWh and an annual CO2 emissions reduction of 161.8 t-CO2.
The KPIs-based monitoring and evaluation results provide a solid basis for the future replication of ZEBs. It supports the broader deployment of integrated clean energy solutions and contribute to accelerate the urban clean energy transition.
